Transgender Day of Remembrance

The ninth remembrance event in London for those murdered and driven to death for being transgendered. Each year the numbers of attendees have increased but sadly so have the numbers of reports. This will be a sombre event but there will also be poetry and music celebrating trans people's talent and lives, and bringing an uplifting spirit to the evening.

Trans Day of Remembrance London is a non-political, non-profit event hosted by, and for, trans people. All trans and gender-diverse people, as well as their friends and allies, are very welcome to attend.

Transculture at the Cinema Museum: Beautiful Boxer

The monthly arts, entertainment and social event for trans, others and allies, returns. Centred around around a screening of the acclaimed film Beautiful Boxer (2004), based on the real life story of a Muay Thai boxer who underwent gender reassignment surgery and lived the rest of her life as a woman.

Electro pop artist Yui Karlberg will also be performing live.

September Translondon Meeting

Sarah Thomas, the electrologist from Charing Cross GIC, comes to talk to us about her work and the current situation vis-a-vis funding. Also, her son, who is a personal fitness coach, will talk about his work with trans* clients, helping women lose weight for surgery and the guys to bulk up. Socializing as ever in the New Bloomsbury Set winebar after.

Transculture at the Cinema Museum: Southern Comfort

September's TransCulture with music, talks, food and drink, a screening of the excellent "Southern Comfort" and the usual opportunities to network and socialize in a warm inviting space. This event is for people of all genders and orientations.

Includes a talk by the ex-Ward Manager of the Gender Ward at Charing Cross Hospital who is now Matron at another. She will also be taking questions after the talk. There will be songs from Miss Nikki and trans* interest news from Martha.

GI'S ANATOMY: DRAWING GENDER, DRAWING SEX, DRAWING BODIES

This exhibition is the result of a project delivered by Gendered Intelligence, which aims to engage the public with ideas of sex and gender diversity including some of the medical practices that are involved with the complexities of sexed and gendered bodies. We worked with 30 transgender and intersex people who took part in a series of practical life drawing workshops drawing life models who were also transgender and intersex identified.
