TransLondon is a discussion/support group for all members of the ‘trans’ community, whatever their gender identity (or identities) and whatever stage in their ‘transition’ they have reached (if at all). However, all members must themselves be trans-identified or ‘questioning’.

The Aims of TransLondon are to:

  • provide a safe place to explore and express your personal gender identity
  • combat isolation
  • provide support with information and resources
  • provide a space where all trans people can socialize, share experiences and exchange ideas
  • combat transphobia
  • promote greater acceptance and rights for all transpeople
  • provide help & advice for transpeople who want to support their friends, family & colleagues
  • provide advice and support with transitioning

Above all, the group is intended to foster a sense of inclusion and celebration of each of us as unique and valued (trans) people.

This February is Camden & Islington LGBT History Month 2014, run as usual by the Camden LGBT Forum. From their website:

"2014 marks the 8th LGBT history month program that we have put on as a Forum. Each year we have more and more exciting activities, talks, exhibitions and parties to add to our guide and this year is no exception! Like the last three years, this year’s History Month is a join initiative with Islington Council."

The new look TransLondon website has been launched for a couple of months now and I, as the friendly neighbourhood web administrator, figured it was time to write a brief news article detailing the state of the website.

As you can see, the website has had a cosmetic make-over. It's hopefully much nicer than the previous layout and hopefully more useful. Not everything has been migrated over to the new website, and there are a few small bugs left to fix. Overall, though, I think it's a great improvement and I'm happy with the way it looks. I hope you are too.
